Tues 8th. Among more simply brilliant roads we will ride TIMMELSJOCH and PASSO GARDENA today. Time to stop and take in the museum if you want. 185 miles 5.5 hours riding.

Wed 9th. A shorter day today taking in PASSO PORDOI and PASSO SELLA to our hotel near Stelvio. You have the option to take advantage of the shorter day OR ride the famous (infamous??) STELVIO pass. Your choice. 120 miles 4.5 hours riding.

Sat 12th. Time to head north and start the run home with the GRIMSEL pass again, it's one of my favourites. Then on through the mountains to Lucerne and Cernay, from where we take some simply amazing roads through the Vosges mountains, via St Die to our hotel outside Nancy. A long but happy day. 270 miles/6.5 hours riding.

Sun 13th. Our final day, we head off to the Eurotunnel in Calais and back to good old England to make our way home and plan our next adventure. 200 miles/4 hours riding.

This is a great tour with many of the best Alpine passes. With a maximum of seven bikes, it really is a riders tour with the focus on stunning roads, great scenery and big smiles. It is probably not really suitable for pillions. There are some long days on the tour and you need to be a competent rider. There are challenging mountain sections but also lots of flowing smooth tarmac to enjoy. If you enjoy the riding, rather than a gentle cruise, this is a tour for you. We will be moving hotel each night and leaving at nine each morning to wring the most enjoyment of every day.

You will be sent all the GPX routes and notes well before departure, you will need a navigation device, satnav or phone. You are free to ride with the group or head off on your own, or a mix of both, just let us know if you are heading off on a detour. It is your holiday, ride it your way, I want you to get the most out of the tour.

Stelvio is deliberately not included on the route, it has become too busy nowadays, however there is an option to ride the Stelvio pass if you wish on day 5, Wednesday, your choice.
